“We’ve been friends since 2012. We were both studying at SRCC, Delhi.
I joined the college late and Kshitiz was the Class Representative. I remember he asked me for my contact and I was taken aback thinking why was this random guy asking my number. However, when I realised that he was my CR I gave him my mobile number. That was the start.
We used to hang out together and spend time as friends. Then came a time when Kshitiz started struggling with his mental health and there were a lot of things bothering him. That was the time when we visited a café and there he opened up to me about his troubles. That is when I realised that I was the only one he was sharing his problems with and that got us closer. We started talking more and spending more time. There were a lot of what-ifs and buts. But we completed college together and then Kshitiz got into a college for his MBA in another city. We managed with 2 years of long-distance !
We would try and regularly visit each other between Delhi & Bangalore. In fact, that was the first time my parents allowed me to go to Bangalore by myself. My parents knew Kshitiz as a friend and they were very chill about him.
It was in fact my dad who asked me if I wanted to marry Kshitiz! One random evening, I woke up from my sleep and walked into the kitchen to drink water and my father asked me if I wanted to marry Kshitiz? I started nodding and saying yes to my father. It was a shocking moment for me, but after convincing my mother and grandparents for a while, we finally tied the knot in Noor Mahal, Karnal and the rest is history” – Shivangi 💓
